"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus. He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."
And that's what Chris Frechette did as he led the Twins to a 12-0 shutout victory over the Athletics.
"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," the Oakland manager said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."
Frechette yielded 5 hits and had 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in a standout performance.
Checking out his stats for the season, Frechette has registered 5 wins and 6 losses in 15 starts, 4.74 ERA and struck out 68 batters in 108.1 innings.

 | Monday, June 12th, 2028: Orioles and Athletics Agree to Swap
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Baltimore Orioles sent nothing to the Oakland Athletics for 32-year old reliever Felix Chomoneva.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
So far this season, Chomoneva has compiled a 0-2 won-lost mark with 1 save and a 3.42 ERA. In 23.2 innings he has fanned 13 and opponents are hitting him at a .284 clip.

 | Saturday, June 3rd, 2028: James Befuddles Seattle
"I hope we miss him next time," the Seattle manager said. "James certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
The Oakland starter tamed the Seattle Mariners 1-0 with a 6-hit shutout, finishing the game with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in a sharp outing.
"I enjoy facing a team like that where I can get an out on one, two or three pitches," James said. "It gives me a chance to be a lot more aggressive."
So far this season James has a 5-5 record with a 6.42 ERA.
