| Breaking News | | Monday, July 2nd, 2029: Syracuse Blanked by Bell The Syracuse Chiefs met their match today in Norfolk hurler Ronald Bell. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 2-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," the Syracuse skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow."
In the 1-0 victory Bell whiffed 5 and gave up no walks.
In 17 starts this season Bell has compiled a 8-7 record and a 2.88 ERA. | | Sunday, May 27th, 2029: League KO's Mud Hens-Chiefs Players with 3-Game Suspensions Both Toledo and Syracuse held press conferences today and announced that several players involved in yesterday's free-for-all at Tiger Sharks Ballpark have been suspended for 3 games by the league office. The clubs told BNN that the Mud Hens Joel Alonso and the Chiefs Juan Moncayo will begin serving the suspensions today.
To date Alonso has chalked up a .242 average with 6 home runs, driven in 26 runs and scored 22 times.
In 2029 Moncayo has a 5-3 record with a 3.97 ERA. | | Saturday, May 26th, 2029: Navarro Given 3-Game Suspension As a result of his tirade and temper tantrum during yesterday's Chiefs-Red Wings game at Ballpark of Glendale, Syracuse second baseman Manuel Navarro will get some time off. He was issued a 3-game suspension by the league commissioner. Navarro was suspended for verbally abusing and physically bumping the home plate umpire after being ejected for arguing over a third strike.
