His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Cristóbal Valle was rewarded with the American League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Arkansas Travelers right fielder hit .469 while collecting 15 hits in 32 at-bats, 1 home run and 10 RBIs.
This year Valle has socked 117 hits in 405 at-bats for a .289 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .353 pace and his totals also include 64 RBIs and 60 runs scored. |
| Monday, July 9th, 2029: AL Star of the Week Honored
22-year-old Don Brown sent shock waves through HBL Double A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the American League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Brown made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .379 average, 11 hits in 29 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 runs batted in.
Where the Arkansas Travelers shortstop goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Brown certainly made his mark last week.
Presently Brown is batting .313 with 107 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 45 runs and scored 63 times.

| Friday, June 1st, 2029: AL Honors López, Best Hitter in May
Not known for his offensive prowess, Esteban López set the league afire in May and took home the American League Batter of the Month award.
The Arkansas right fielder posted a steady .304 batting average, 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 23 runs.
López has collected 65 hits for the Travelers this year, 8 of them home runs. He has also netted 29 RBIs and scored 40 runs while batting .308.
