Sunday, July 1st, 2029: AL's #1 Batter Announced
When Jorge Martínez stepped up to the plate in June, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the American League Batter of the Month award.

The young New Britain first baseman posted a .320 batting average with 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and scored 19 runs. Martínez also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .385 on-base percentage.

This season in 82 games, Martínez has hit at a .283 clip with 81 hits, 16 home runs, 58 RBIs and 46 runs scored.
Monday, June 25th, 2029: AL Star of the Week Announced
19-year-old Albert McNeal sent shock waves through HBL Double A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the American League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, McNeal made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .615 average, 16 hits in 26 at-bats, 1 home run and 9 RBI.

Where the New Britain Rock Cats catcher goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but McNeal certainly made his mark last week.

So far this year McNeal is batting .314 with 6 home runs, 38 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
Saturday, June 23rd, 2029: Peña Hot, Rock Cats Cold
Speaking after the game, the Midland manager said, "Iván Peña had everything going for him. He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement... he had it all... masterful."

Peña held the New Britain Rock Cats to 5 hits and fashioned a fine 3-0 shutout. He had 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in the game.

"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," the New Britain skipper told reporters.

In 8 starts this season Peña has compiled a 1-6 record and a 5.66 ERA.
