| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, October 28th, 2031: Kessler Earns NL Rookie Honor
Connor Kessler put together some impressive numbers for Washington to garner enough votes for the National League Rookie of the Year.
The Nationals third baseman took the honor by hitting .297 in 118 games this season and finishing with 137 hits, 32 home runs, 106 RBIs and 64 runs scored.

 | Monday, October 6th, 2031: Washington's Atmore Down with Injury
Washington has lost starting pitcher Shannon Atmore for at least 5-6 weeks. He was hurt in a game against the Giants while throwing a pitch and sustained a strained tricep muscle. His doctors said Atmore will probably be out the rest of the year.
So far this season Atmore has a record of 16-11 with 264 strikeouts and 27 walks in 255.1 innings and a 3.14 ERA.

In an impressive outing Pelayo Garcia hurled nothing but zeros at the Nationals today at Shea Stadium. The New York (N) pitcher allowed 3 hits, fanned 8 and walked 1 in blanking Washington 1-0.
This season to date, Garcia has fashioned a 12-6 mark and 2.66 ERA in 169.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .217 against him and he has logged 142 strikeouts.
