Saturday, July 1st, 2028: Sylvestre Noriega Winner in National League
Sylvestre Noriega battered National League pitchers all June and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around Hickory Baseball League long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," Noriega told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I may not take the field and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 27 games, Noriega hit .315 with 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 29 runs.

Noriega on the season is batting .265 with 22 home runs. His totals include 58 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has played in 78 games.
Sunday, June 18th, 2028: Nationals To Sidelined for 1-2 Weeks
The Washington Nationals will lose the services of reliever Keith To after he sustained a finger blister while throwing a pitch in today's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," To said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 1-2 weeks.

This season in 27 relief appearances To has thrown 34 innings and collected no saves. His won-lost record is 4-2 with a 4.24 ERA.
Thursday, June 15th, 2028: Blake Injured, Out of Lineup 12 Months
Jack Blake had to leave the Nationals game against Houston after suffering a ruptured tricep tendon while throwing the ball. He will be out of the lineup at least 12 months. He told SION reporters, "I just felt a sharp pain when it happened. I knew there was something wrong."

Blake is currently batting .377 with 11 home runs and 45 RBIs.
