Friday, June 8th, 2029: Iida Whips Akron
The Portland Sea Dogs shut out the Akron Aeros behind the 3-hit pitching of Shigeru Iida, winning by the score of 11-0 at Ballpark of Portland.

This season Iida has gone 2-4 with an ERA of 4.14, posting 21 strikeouts in 45.2 innings.
Saturday, May 26th, 2029: West Tenn Blanked by León
Jorge León was downright nasty in pitching a 1-0 shutout against West Tenn. His splitter was diving, his slider was breaking and the Diamond Jaxx were swinging and looking bad. In the solid 2-hit shutout the Sea Dogs hurler chalked up 1 strikeout and 1 walk in a strong outing.

"As the game went on, he got stronger," his manager said. "I thought he really turned it up a notch in the eighth and ninth and probably threw his best breaking balls in those two innings. They put a lot of balls in play early in the count because he was throwing strikes."

This season León has 1 win and 1 loss and a 2.81 ERA.
Monday, May 14th, 2029: Key Superb Against Portland
"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Portland manager after watching Edmund Key of the Erie Seawolves humiliate his club 2-0 in a fine 1-hit shutout.

"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Key said after he befuddled the Sea Dogs. "I was making good pitches the entire game."

He whiffed 3 and walked 1 in the complete game effort.

Thus far this season, Key has worked 42.1 innings with 28 strikeouts en route to a 1-3 record and a 2.34 ERA.
