| Breaking News | | Wednesday, July 4th, 2029: Pacheco Torches Mets for 5 Hits It was a good day all around. Altoona whipped Binghamton 12-5 and Juan Pacheco displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Carey Grounds.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Juan is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
The 22-year-old center fielder for the Curve collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
J. Pacheco hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Brito in the 8th.
Pacheco is hitting .277 this year with 7 home runs, 44 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 92 hits in 332 at-bats, 34 walks and a .361 on-base percentage. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Curve starting pitcher suffered a ruptured disc while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Frisco RoughRiders. Team doctors said it would take at least 8 months to heal.

"I stayed ahead of batters," he said after the game, "and was able to get a lot of quick outs. My defense deserves a lot of credit too. They had to be on their toes and they saved me several times."
The 21-year-old starter rung up 9 strikeouts and 1 walk in whipping the Stars.
"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," the Huntsville skipper said.
Walton has posted a 2-1 record in 2029 with a 4.15 ERA. Teams are hitting .218 against him and he has rung up 50 strikeouts in 43.1 innings. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Mitch Walton | ruptured disc (back) | 3-4 months | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 61-59, .508 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 11.0 GB | | Record at home | 31-29, .517 PCT | | Record on the road | 30-30, .500 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-5, .583 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 18-20, .474 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 43-39, .524 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in April | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in May | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in June | 13-12, .520 PCT | | Record in July | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in August | 7-2, .778 PCT |
