Thursday, May 11th, 2028: Washington Shuts Out Mets, Atmore Winner
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.

In his postgame interview the New York (N) manager said, "Shannon Atmore made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Atmore had 7 strikeouts, no walks and allowed only 2 hits as the Washington Nationals whitewashed the New York (N) Mets 7-0.

In 2028, Atmore has chalked up 5 wins and 2 losses in 8 starts with 54 strikeouts in 65 innings and a 2.08 ERA.
Monday, May 1st, 2028: NL Awards Player of the Week Trophy
There was no one hotter in the National League last week as Francisco Maldonado attacked enemy pitching with a vengeance to collect the Player of the Week Award.

The 25-year-old New York (N) second baseman batted .591 with 13 hits in 22 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBIs.

Maldonado is hitting .361 in 2028 with 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 22 hits in 61 at-bats and played in 23 games.
Tuesday, April 25th, 2028: Maldonado 5-5 Against Dodgers
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Francisco Maldonado. It was very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Maldonado went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Los Angeles pitching.

When the dust settled on the diamond at Shea Stadium, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the New York (N) Mets had a 11-4 victory over the Dodgers.

"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he laughed in the SION postgame interview.

F. Maldonado singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off P. Hisle in the 8th.

Maldonado has collected 15 hits for the Mets this year, 2 of them home runs. He has also netted 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs while batting .333.
