Saturday, July 7th, 2029: Ports Puentes Tosses Masterpiece
Alberto Puentes of the Stockton Ports put the clamps on the opposition and held the Lakeland Tigers scoreless in a 4-hit whitewash.

"He's got some good stuff, but we should have done better than that," said the Lakeland skipper after the 4-0 loss.

Puentes was on target most of the game and finished with 1 strikeout and 3 walks.

Season-to-date Puentes has no saves in no relief appearances with a 10-3 record and 1.89 ERA.
Wednesday, July 4th, 2029: Coronado Hurls Masterpiece
Ignacio Coronado of the Lakeland Tigers was in command from start to finish in his 4-0 shutout win over the Aberdeen IronBirds. He struck out 10, walked 2 and allowed 4 hits.

"I felt strong the entire game," Coronado said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working."

To date in 2029, Coronado sports a 9-4 mark with a 2.91 ERA in 17 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .225 batting average and has 112 strikeouts in 120.2 innings.
Sunday, June 17th, 2029: Lakeland-Charleston Brawl, McCusker and Correa Suspended
The Tigers Bob McCusker and the RiverDogs Roberto Correa were suspended 3 games each by league officials today for their fight which set off a bench-clearing skirmish between the teams at Cannons Ballpark.

This year McCusker is hitting .257 with 5 home runs.

In 2029 Correa has posted a record of 7 wins and 1 loss with a 2.67 ERA. He has appeared in 11 games and struck out 44 in 67.1 innings.
