| Breaking News | | Monday, July 16th, 2029: Yes, It's a No-No by González It's a rare thing to pitch a no-hitter in baseball. It's done by the great and the not-so-great. There are times when an average pitcher will briefly be glorified by this achievement. It is not an honor reserved totally for the great pitchers. Today at Ballpark of Whiteman AFB, José González of the Mets reveled in the glory of a no-hitter. Today he was the best he could be. He held Lake Elsinore hitless and beat them 5-0.
One of the Storm told reporters after the game, "Everything was working for him. When that happens, everything is going your way. He was in command."
González rung up 10 strikeouts, issued 1 walk and faced only 30 hitters in his historic outing.
After the game in the St. Lucie locker room, he spoke to reporters. "I really got nervous in the last inning. I knew I had a chance at a no-hitter. It was hard to stay calm and concentrate. Thank goodness for my catcher. He told me to just concentrate on hitting his glove. He would do all of the thinking."
His record in 2029 is 10-5 in 20 starts and González has a 3.69 ERA. | | Wednesday, July 4th, 2029: Lewis Blanks Modesto The Nuts tried, but could not solve St. Lucie's Dirk Lewis, falling to the Mets 2-0. Modesto managed only 4 hits off Lewis, who kept opposing hitters guessing all day. In a strong route-going performance he had 3 strikeouts and walked 3.
Up to now Lewis has compiled an ERA of 2.18 with a 1-0 mark over 5 starts. He has 14 strikeouts in 41.1 innings and has held opponents to a .221 batting average. | | Sunday, July 1st, 2029: Cooley Holds St. Lucie Scoreless 20-year-old Nationals pitcher Arlen Cooley had a strong outing against the St. Lucie Mets at Cavalry Stadium, keeping them off the scoreboard the whole game. He struck out 7 in the 6-0 win and walked 0 while surrendering 3 hits.
This season Cooley has been credited with no saves. In no relief appearances and 133 innings he has a 10-4 won-lost mark, a 2.71 ERA and 94 strikeouts. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Andrew Perry | torn back muscle | Career Over! | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 48-55, .466 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 20.0 GB | | Record at home | 24-25, .490 PCT | | Record on the road | 24-30, .444 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-7, .222 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 8-22, .267 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-11, .500 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 37-44, .457 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in June | 10-15, .400 PCT | | Record in July | 10-11, .476 PCT |
