| Breaking News |  | Thursday, September 25th, 2031: 5-Hit Blitz by Pittsburgh's Scott
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Robert Scott -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at PNC Park and paced the Pirates to a 10-4 win over the Washington Nationals.
After his dynamite batting performance the Pittsburgh catcher told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
R. Scott singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off S. Moore in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off L. Prisco in the 9th.
So far this season Scott is hitting .436 with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 17 hits in 39 at-bats and a .463 OBP.
