| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 19th, 2028: NL Names Pirates First Baseman Winner
The hottest bat of the week belonged to Pittsburgh first baseman Norberto Guevara.
He went on a rampage last week against NL hurlers and rapped out 11 hits in 25 at-bats for a .440 average while hitting 4 home runs, driving in 11 runs and scoring 8 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the National League Player of the Week trophy.
Guevara was honored today at a press conference.
A look at his season totals shows Guevara with 8 home runs, .288 BA, .349 OBP, 57 RBIs and 32 runs scored.

 | Thursday, June 1st, 2028: National League Announces Best Starter
There was little doubt around the National League that Jose Febo would be awarded Pitcher of the Month honors for May. Today, they made it official, naming the 33-year-old Pittsburgh Pirates starter the latest honoree.
He thoroughly dominated the hitters who stood in against him, holding them to a .170 batting average while fashioning a 3.42 ERA in 6 starts. His record for the month was 6-0 in 47.1 innings of work.
So far this year Febo has a 9-1 record with a 3.04 ERA.

 | Wednesday, May 31st, 2028: Pirates Center Fielder Hurt
Henry Polzin of the Pittsburgh Pirates could be headed for the disabled list after suffering a bruised cheekbone in a game against the Calgary Storm. He is expected to miss at least 2 weeks. The Pittsburgh center fielder was injured making a defensive play. Polzin said, "Right now I am pretty sore and I don't feel very good at all."
Currently Polzin is batting .354 with 68 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 21 runs and scored 47 times.
