"It was two outs in the last inning of the 2029 Round 3 and my heart is pounding. When the last out was made, a grand feeling came over me. We were the champs for today and forever. We were the champions." That is how the Toledo manager described his feelings to reporters after the game. "This is the goal. This is the pinnacle of success. This is why we play the game."
The Toledo Mud Hens won their 1st league championship with a 4-2 win over the Nashville Sounds. During the season the new champs compiled a 72-58 record in the American League Western Division and finished in second place in the standings. They triumphed over the Sounds 4-3 in games.

| Saturday, July 28th, 2029: Justin Morgan Injured, Out for Year
Doctors in Nashville said Justin Morgan may not play anymore this year. The Sounds second baseman received a torn anterior cruciate ligament during a game against the Louisville Bats and will be out for at least 8 months. Club officials told BNN they did not expect him to return to the team this season.
In the 2029 season Morgan is hitting .280 with 5 home runs.

 | Thursday, July 26th, 2029: Begin Tosses Shutout Against Bats
In an impressive mound performance, Timothy Begin of the Nashville Sounds checked the Louisville Bats on a 4-hitter and held them scoreless.
"He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," said the Louisville manager. "Begin kept us confused the whole game."
The Nashville hurler rang up 6 strikeouts and issued no walks in his 6-0 shutout victory.
This year Begin has a 5-3 record with a 2.26 ERA.
