| Breaking News |  | Thursday, October 25th, 2029: JPL Announces Jack Bien Outstanding Pitcher Award
Toshimichi Watanabe has done something few relievers ever do -- win the Pacific League Jack Bien Outstanding Pitcher Award. Today the Fukuoka reliever got the news on the heels of his spectacular 2029 season.
He tossed 60.2 innings as he put up a 7-2 record and 40 saves. Watanabe also compiled a 1.48 ERA and collected 76 strikeouts as he held opponents to a .213 batting average.

| Thursday, October 11th, 2029: Fukuoka Hawks Win Round 1
The Fukuoka Hawks were too much for Yokohama in this year's Nippon Professional Baseball League Round 1. They eliminated the Baystars today at Unforgiven Ballpark and captured the series 4-1.
The Hawks toppled them by the score of 3-1 in the final game of the series to collect their 3rd league championship.
Their season record was 74-62 and good enough for first place in the Pacific League.

When the Pacific League regular season came to a close yesterday, Yoshimasa Mori was all alone in the top spot in the batting race with a .324 average. The 31-year-old Fukuoka Hawks third baseman smacked 165 hits in 509 at-bats and wrapped up the year with 33 doubles, 2 triples and 27 home runs. Mori appeared in 125 games and had 106 RBIs and 84 runs scored.
