| Breaking News |  | Sunday, October 14th, 2029: Tohoku Trades Abe to Chiba Lotte for Motsuzuki
The Tohoku Golden Eagles announced a deal with the Marines today, sending 27-year old shortstop Yoshifumi Abe and 19-year old minor league catcher Kenshin Araki to Chiba Lotte for 32-year old reliever Sadaharu Motsuzuki. It had been talked about for the past few weeks and everything came together late last night. All players are expected to be joining their respective clubs shortly.
In his career Abe has compiled a .238 batting average and collected 262 hits, 5 home runs and 102 RBIs.
Lifetime Motsuzuki has chalked up a 13-and-12 record with 3 saves and a 4.85 ERA.

 | Monday, October 1st, 2029: Kono #1 JPL Pitcher in September
In September, Kawanari Kono tore through the Pacific League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 22 years old.
The young Tohoku starter posted a 4-0 mark and an ERA of 2.31 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 39 innings he collected 36 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .240 average.
In 31 starts this season Kono has gathered 17 wins while suffering 8 losses. He has pitched 233.1 innings, allowed 212 hits, struck out 228 and has a 2.70 ERA.
