The news is bad in Chunichi. The Dragons have lost the services of starting pitcher Derrick Leonard for the rest of the season due to bone chips in his elbow. Leonard was injured in a recent game with the Yomiuri Giants while throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 7 weeks.
To this point in the season Leonard has 11 wins and 13 losses and a 4.50 ERA.

His hard work paid off this week. The hardworking Tatsui Ine was rewarded with the Central League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Chunichi Dragons left fielder hit .444 while collecting 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 5 home runs and 10 RBIs.
This year Ine is hitting .269 with 22 home runs.
