The Central League has made it official -- John Waugh is the winner of the Lance Reid Rookie of the Year Award.
In 2029 the Tokyo center fielder was solid performer with a .279 batting average, 25 home runs and 72 RBIs. Waugh also had 56 walks and posted a .374 on-base percentage.

The Swallows have reached a deal with Hokkaido, sending 30-year old third baseman Bernard Tadahisa and 22-year old minor league shortstop Takeshi Miyashita to the Fighters in exchange for 27-year old starting pitcher Teinosuke Fukuda. Reports had been hinting at a deal in recent days, but weren't confirmed until this afternoon.
Tadahisa is batting .239 with 249 career base hits, including 69 doubles, 2 triples and 23 home runs with 126 RBIs and 127 runs scored. He has played in 284 games, stolen 5 bases and compiled a .305 OBP.
In his career Fukuda has 46 victories and 37 defeats and recorded an ERA of 4.39.

 | Sunday, October 14th, 2029: Quezada and Alfaro Swapped
Chiba Lotte and Tokyo have agreed in principle to a trade. The Marines will send 32-year old center fielder Roberto Quezada to the Swallows for 29-year old reliever Ramón Alfaro. The deal is expected to be finalized shortly and the clubs will be introducing their new players to the press when the paperwork is complete.
Over his career Quezada has batted .255 and collected 132 hits, 9 home runs and 50 RBIs.
Since he broke in, Alfaro has picked up 6 wins, 7 losses and 3 saves. He has posted a 4.67 ERA and recorded 96 strikeouts in 123.1 innings.
