| Breaking News | | Monday, July 9th, 2029: American League Picks Top Performer 24-year-old Pedro Cordero made a few Pawtucket headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and American League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 8 hits in 19 at-bats to put up a .421 average. Cordero collected 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs.
This season Cordero is hitting .281 with 85 hits, 14 home runs, 48 RBIs, scored 50 runs and played in 81 games. | | Saturday, July 7th, 2029: Paz Brilliant, Blanks Mud Hens In an impressive mound performance, Adrian Paz of the Pawtucket Red Sox checked the Toledo Mud Hens on a 5-hitter and held them scoreless.
"He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," said the Toledo manager. "Paz kept us confused the whole game."
The Pawtucket hurler rang up 3 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his 13-0 shutout victory.
In the 2029 season Paz has 8 wins and 6 losses and a 2.98 ERA. | | Monday, June 18th, 2029: Red Sox Roberson Down and Out for Year The doctors have spoken and William Roberson of the Pawtucket Red Sox didn't like what he heard. The 30-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Roberson sustained his season-ending injury during the Syracuse Chiefs game yesterday at Pawtucket Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Pawtucket medical staff reported Roberson had back spasms and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.
His record this year is 8-3 in 15 starts and Roberson has a 2.19 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 51-39, .567 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 27-20, .574 PCT | | Record on the road | 24-19, .558 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-7, .222 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 17-14, .548 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 19-13, .594 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 32-26, .552 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in May | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in June | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in July | 5-2, .714 PCT |
