| Breaking News |  | Monday, July 9th, 2029: National League Announces #1 Player Dave Harvey burst onto the National League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie second baseman for Columbus garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 22-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .526 (10-19) with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs last week.
So far this year Harvey has 12 home runs and a .319 batting average. |  | Thursday, July 5th, 2029: Cervantes Gets Shutout Before the game Santiago Cervantes liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Clippers pitcher whitewashed the Round Rock Express 7-0.
Cervantes said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."
The Columbus starter held Round Rock scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 6 strikeouts and issuing 3 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Express manager said in his postgame interview.
"When that happens, you usually lose."
To date he has nailed down 0 saves for his club. In no relief appearances, Cervantes has 53 strikeouts in 63.2 innings with a 2.26 ERA and a 6-2 mark. |  | Monday, July 2nd, 2029: Red-Hot Harvey Scorches Zephyrs The Clippers whipped the Zephyrs 27-3 at Columbus Ballpark and Dave Harvey had a big hand in the win. The Clippers second baseman came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Harvey and a tough day for New Orleans.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Harvey delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.
D. Harvey struck out in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 8th.
