Thursday, July 5th, 2029: Cervantes Gets Shutout
Before the game Santiago Cervantes liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Clippers pitcher whitewashed the Round Rock Express 7-0.

Cervantes said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."

The Columbus starter held Round Rock scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 6 strikeouts and issuing 3 walks.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Express manager said in his postgame interview.

"When that happens, you usually lose."

To date he has nailed down 0 saves for his club. In no relief appearances, Cervantes has 53 strikeouts in 63.2 innings with a 2.26 ERA and a 6-2 mark.
