| Breaking News | | Wednesday, June 27th, 2029: Rentería Socks it to Zephyrs, Cracks 5 Hits It was high-5 day at Immortals Ballpark, at least for Pablo Rentería of the Oklahoma RedHawks. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the New Orleans Zephyrs, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Rentería smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Oklahoma still dropped the game 7-5.
His manager said, "Pablo was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "Rentería bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame."
P. Rentería doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
This season Rentería is batting .307 with 30 RBIs, 59 runs scored and 4 home runs. | | Friday, June 1st, 2029: Henshaw Wins Best NL Pitcher In May Oklahoma starter Kyle Henshaw confused hitters all month long. Last month's National League Pitcher of the Month took home the trophy as he collected a 5-2 record in 7 starts.
The 31-year-old Henshaw added 39 strikeouts in 50.1 innings and 15 walks to his season record and compiled a 2.68 ERA. Other clubs hit .216 against him.
This season Henshaw has worked 94.2 innings with 70 strikeouts en route to a 10-2 record and a 2.66 ERA. | | Saturday, May 26th, 2029: Silva Hitless, Stopped by RedHawks The Round Rock Express won the game 4-3 over the Oklahoma RedHawks. At the same time the RedHawks mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 24-game hitting streak of Express right fielder Roberto Silva. But that was still not enough to win the game.
"Our pitchers may have focused a bit too much on stopping Silva," the Oklahoma manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Express have other hitters and they did their job today."
For the season, Silva is hitting at a .400 clip with 4 home runs, 18 RBIs and has scored 18 runs. He has 38 hits, 14 walks and a .477 on-base percentage. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Angel Mendoza | tender shoulder | 3 days | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 57-33, .633 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 29-17, .630 PCT | | Record on the road | 28-16, .636 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-4, .429 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 12-11, .522 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 9-9, .500 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 48-24, .667 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in May | 19-10, .655 PCT | | Record in June | 16-10, .615 PCT | | Record in July | 4-3, .571 PCT |
