Monday, July 2nd, 2029: Red-Hot Harvey Scorches Zephyrs
The Clippers whipped the Zephyrs 27-3 at Columbus Ballpark and Dave Harvey had a big hand in the win. The Clippers second baseman came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Harvey and a tough day for New Orleans.

"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."

Plan or not, Harvey delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.

D. Harvey struck out in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 8th.

This year Harvey is batting .312 with 11 home runs and 47 RBIs. In 73 games he has scored 41 times.
Monday, July 2nd, 2029: Rather Slams 5 Hits for Columbus
It was a hits blitz for Luis Rather at Columbus Ballpark. The Columbus Clippers first baseman tore into New Orleans for 5 hits in 7 at-bats to pace the Clippers to a 27-3 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.

The manager for the Zephyrs bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Rather, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."

L. Rather singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 7th and walked in the 9th.

Thus far this season in 80 games Rather is batting .302 with 17 home runs, 64 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 97 hits in 321 at-bats.
Wednesday, June 27th, 2029: Rentería Socks it to Zephyrs, Cracks 5 Hits
It was high-5 day at Immortals Ballpark, at least for Pablo Rentería of the Oklahoma RedHawks. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the New Orleans Zephyrs, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Rentería smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Oklahoma still dropped the game 7-5.

His manager said, "Pablo was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory."

In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN writers, "Rentería bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame."

P. Rentería doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.

This season Rentería is batting .307 with 30 RBIs, 59 runs scored and 4 home runs.
